Who are you?
We are a group of people who have faced the prospect of unemployment – whether through natural, early or enforced retirement or redundancy – at the ‘wrong’ age, 50 years old or more! And we soon realised that there are thousands of people just like us.

For one reason or another – whether for financial or because we enjoyed the challenge or interaction – none of us was ready to say goodbye to our working lives or being busy.

So, the concept of Skilled People.com was born. A register of mature, experienced individuals who are willing to work full time, part time, on contract, or as volunteers.

Do we have to pay to register?
No, there is no charge to employers or charities who wish to search the Register or post a vacancy.

What do we have to pay for?
There is no charge for posting a vacancy on the website.

Our standard charges for the release of contact details, or when an appointment is made, have been waived for Charities - provided the position is an unpaid one.

A reduced fee will apply to any permanent paid positions.

How do we post a permanent paid position?
Go to the Home page and Register as an Employer

How long does registration last?
For as long as you wish. Your organisation will remain registered, until you ask us to remove your details.

Why do you want an e mail address?
Because that is the way we will maintain contact with you. It will not be passed on to anyone else without your permission.

How long will a volunteer position remain on the site?
There is no time limit. The onus is on you to make sure that your vacancies are kept up to date, by removing positions that have been filled or withdrawn. This can be done very simply via your Administration Area.

How often do you match members to vacancies?
New members are always being added, so the site is automatically searched for suitable candidates.

Supposing we want to change the criteria for the job we have posted or advertised?
You can make any changes you wish in the Administration Area dedicated to your business.

How will we know if you find a member who matches our requirements?
We will e mail details to you.

How will we know if a member is interested in our vacancy or advertisement?
They will tell us, and we will alert you by e mail

Is the information that you hold secure?
We hold all of our data on secure servers. Your organisation’s details will not be given to anyone without your express permission.

How do we get in touch with a member, if we see someone who appears to match our requirements?
Simply follow the instructions on the site, and we will notify them of your interest.

If they are interested in the position, we will release their details to you and you can contact them direct.

Can we search the site ourselves?.
You can search the site yourself using any mixture of Counties, Towns, and Postcodes. You can also search using Keywords; this will find details of all member registrations containing these words.

What happens if a member accepts a position with us?
You must advise us immediately, by e mail, so that we can remove their availability details from the site.

We may also ask you to give us some details about your experience, to help us identify possible improvements to the way the web site works.

What happens if a job we put on the site is filled by us from elsewhere?
You are obliged to advise us immediately, by email, so that we can remove your vacancy from the site.

What happens if we forget a password?
Go to your Administration Area and follow the instructions to create a new password.

Can we change a password?
Yes. Go to your Administration Area and follow the instructions for changing your password.

We can’t log in
Check that you have entered the EXACT e mail address and password that you used when you registered. If you are still experiencing problems, contact admin@skilledpeople.com and we will resolve the problem.

Can we have separate contacts in our company or organisation?
Yes. You can have a separate contact for each position that you post.

What happens if we change an e mail address?
Go to your Administration Area and follow the instructions for changing an e mail address.

How do we cancel our registration?
If you wish to cease all connection with Skilled People.com, e mail us at admin@skilledpeople.com
