Job Description

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity and helps more than 230,000 cats and kittens every year; their vision is for a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.

Commencing door-to-door fundraising campaigns throughout the counties of Devon, Cornwall, Sussex, Kent and Surrey, you will work door-to-door in a radius up to 15 miles from where you live, and in an unhurried and sensitive manner engage with members of the public about the Charity’s cause, offering the person the opportunity to make a monthly donation to the charity for many years to come.

Throughout your time fundraising on behalf of Cats Protection you will be employed by an ethical fundraising agency, The Professional Fundraiser, that undertakes door-to-door fundraising campaigns on behalf of the Charity.

Looking to employ the best in the sector The Professional Fundraiser pays the best in the sector. With a starting salary of £16,000 per annum (based on 36 hours per week) this quickly increases to £17,500 following successful completion of your probation period (12 weeks). Opportunities to progress and become a senior fundraiser are readily available with an accompanying annual salary of £19,000 per annum. In addition we also pay an uncapped bonus dependent upon the number of quality donors that you recruit for Cats Protection, allowing on target earnings of £30,000 per year.

Additional benefits include up to 30 days paid holiday per year, your birthday off paid, a Christmas shopping day, flexible working, and childcare vouchers among others.

We have a mix of full time and part time positions available, with shifts between 2pm and 9pm Monday to Friday and 11am and 5pm on Saturdays. Evening work until 8pm is compulsory for this job role.

We welcome applicants of all ages and from all walks of life. No previous experience is necessary for this type of job role but you should have a mature and responsible approach, excellent communication skills, passion for cats and kittens, and have a resilient nature able to handle rejection from donors not wishing to donate.

All applicants must be 18 years of age or over, and be eligible to work in the UK.
