Type of role: At Centrepoint we create the space and places within which young people can feel secure and valued, respect themselves, learn to take greater control of their lives, resist the damaging influences which affect them, and be safe. Volunteers can help support our young people on the road to living independently. If you have some time to spare and want to make a difference to the lives of young people then why not consider volunteering at Centrepoint, just a few hours a week can make all the difference and is a worthwhile, recognisable contribution.
Useful Skills: Here is a list of opportunities a volunteer could be involved in: Befriending 1:1 work with a young person, usually over several months or years. Activities with young people to provide learning opportunities such as CV preparation, discussion groups, cinema trips, sport, photography. Reception duties. Employee volunteering through your organisation. Participating in one of our many events to raise funds. Running workshops that offer skills to young people, such as: Cookery, Budgeting, Computing, Life skills eg, how to furnish a flat, how to pay bills etc., Sports
Commitment: Part Time
Other Info: We are also keen to hear from volunteers who posses a specialised skill, experience or qualification for example: DIY/Handyperson skills, Registered Nurse, Occupational Health , Mechanic, Painting/decorating, Gardening
