We are committed to protecting your privacy, and keeping your personal or business information confidential and secure at all times.

Use of data

The Data Protection Act 1998 lays down principles for the use of data, and puts obligations on us as the users of personal information.

A key principle of the Act states that data must be used fairly and lawfully. To meet this obligation, we ensure that individuals, companies or organisations who register with this site are aware of how we intend to use certain information before they supply it. This enables them to make an informed decision whether to supply the information requested or not.

It is your responsibility to ensure that any information you give us is up to date. You may change the information that we hold about you, your company or organisation by logging in and visiting the appropriate Administration Area, where a number of options are available.

With your permission, we may use your data from time to time to provide you with information about us, or products and services which we think may interest you. You can withdraw this permission at any time by emailing us at admin@skilledpeople.com.

When a candidate applies for a job through skilledpeople.com their details will be sent direct to an employer or recruiter. The employer or recruiter will have placed a job advertisement either direct on to the skilledpeople.com website or through a third party aggregator.

In registering with skilledpeople.com a candidate gives their full and unreserved permission for their contact and personal details to be supplied to any company or organisation that either places a job advertisement direct on the skilledpeople.com site direct or via a third party. Neither skilledpeople.com or Skilled People Limited provide any warranties whatsoever regarding the nature of companies or organisations advertising for staff, or the jobs they are advertising. It is the responsibility of candidates to take the appropriate action to satisfy themselves that the companies or organisations are bona fide and that the jobs advertised conform with UK employment legislation.

As a registered user of this site, you have the right to ask for a copy of any information that we hold about you, your company or organisation on our database. Requests for copies of any such information must be made in writing to the Data Protection Officer, Skilled People Limited, Forum House, Stirling Road, Chichester, West Sussex PO19 7DN.
