Job Description

Responsible to: Strategic Lead: Product and Service Development

Location of Role: Headquarters based

Main Purpose of Job: To work with the Strategic Lead: Product and Service Development to establish key projects and programmes that support the delivery of UK Coaching’s strategic objectives.

Key Tasks:

1 Providing required level of end-to-end project management (PM) support to organisation-wide projects.

2 Managing day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s) and applying sound project methodology.

3 Delivering project objectives by planning project activities, evaluating implementation and progress of project.

4 Creating, delivering and revising project plans to meet changing needs and requirements.

5 Assigning clear responsibilities and tasks to team members to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.

6 Ensuring project documents are complete, current, and appropriately stored.

7 Developing effective working relationships with key stakeholders.

8 Managing and monitoring flow of work into Creative Services Team.

9 Understanding basic cost models and monitoring project costs.

10 Working with cross-organisational teams to define and document requirements.

11 Facilitate internal communication of project status reports to stakeholders.

12 Maintaining a high level of awareness of UK Coaching’s programmes, products and services

13 Shaping, implementing and evolving the Project Management framework to ensure it meets the needs of the organisation

14 Working with UK Coaching colleagues to ensure that equity in coaching is developed and delivered effectively

15 Following and promoting the vision, values and policies of UK Coaching internally and externally.

16 Following, promoting and implementing UK Coaching’s policies for the equal treatment of all employees, applicants and customers.

17 Undertaking any other tasks appropriate to this level of responsibility.

Person Specification

The person specification describes the knowledge, skills, aptitudes, experience and qualifications that UK Coaching deems necessary for successful performance in the job role.


• Substantial PM experience

• Outstanding PM skills, including strong organisational and time management skills.

• Completer/Finisher; Risk Identifier & Manager.

• Ability to use standard Microsoft products to a high standard.

• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.

• Good analytical and problem solving skills.

• Ability to learn quickly and deliver effectively.

• Proven capability to work successfully, both independently and as part of a team.

• Highly motivated and self-sufficient.

• Exhibit personal accountability.

• Confident decision maker.


• Experience of implementing new PM processes within an organisation.

• Experience of managing remote project teams would be advantageous.
